About Sharon A. Crawford

Sharon is a Toronto-based writer (mystery and memoir), TV host,
editor, writing instructor, blogger, book reviewer and actor. She was born in Toronto and lived in Aurora, Ontario for 23 years, returning to Toronto in 1998. She worked for 35 years as a freelance journalist, but before that worked as a secretary and clerk for the Ontario Government, an insurance agency, a law firm and Toronto Police Services. The latter two might have something to do with her penchant for writing mysteries, but so might reading Nancy Drew and Agatha Christie and watching the Perry Mason TV series as a child and teenager, the latter two at her late mother’s insistence. She “blames” her mother partly for her mystery reading and writing addictions.

Sharon is the author of the Beyond mystery series published by Blue Denim Press: Beyond the Tripping Point (2012), Beyond Blood
(2014) and Beyond Faith (2017), and is currently writing the fourth, Beyond Truth. With her main Beyond book character, PI Dana Bowman, Sharon hosts Crime Beat Confidential, the Internet TV Show on thatchannel.com. Sharon and Dana also do personal appearances at writing conferences, author presentations, etc. Sharon was Writer in Residence for the Canadian Authors Association Toronto chapter (2009-2014) and currently belongs to Crime Writers of Canada, Sisters in Crime, Toronto Heliconian Club, and runs the East End Writers’ Group.

From the publisher:

From the moment Dana Bowman sees the redheaded nun arguing with a man on the street and Bast Overture receives an email from Eli Foster asking him to find her birth parents, the twin PIs are thrust into a complex chain of events involving extortion, stalking, fire, vandalism, secret adoptions, a bank robbery, assault, and murders – past and present.

The nun, Sister Margaret Olsen, is suspected of pushing her younger brother, Larry, into traffic, killing him. Detective Sergeant Donald Fielding asks the twins to do an independent background check on her. When the nun arrives at the Attic Investigative Agency, Dana recognizes her as the teacher who assaulted her as a child. To add another level of complexity, hovering in the background throughout the twists and turns of the twins’ investigation is the nameless woman fixated on killing with an axe.
